Project: Make Love Not War

Inspiration

Rooted in the peace movement of the late 1950s and 1960s, the original peace sign stood for resistance against war and collective responsibility. This project connects history, cultural criticism, and past protest symbols with a modern issue — especially highlighting the influence of the youth and young adults with today’s conversation around violence and perception.

Implementation

The concept moves into design and visuals: a raw longsleeve, reduced and direct, combined with a rough shooting aesthetic. The presence of gun violence and repeated shots creates discomfort on purpose, confronting the viewer rather than offering easy beauty.

Modern Approach

The human makes the decision — the gun remains only a tool. By placing the graphic along the side, the piece keeps an understated tone while still drawing critical attention to the deeper message behind it.

Identity

The embroidered name closes the narrative with intention. It emphasizes authorship and responsibility — a reminder that every statement in fashion is carried by a real person and a clear point of view.
